Andrew Simmons composes music, plays guitar, draws pictures, and writes.

His music can be heard on BBC's Repair Shop, The One Show, and Gordon Ramsay's Future Food Stars; Netflix's 13 Reasons Why and Lego Friends; and advertising campaigns by Toyota, Heineken, Nintendo, and Müllerlite. Andrew's guitar and bass playing can be heard on award-winning podcast My Dad Wrote a Porno and award-wining audio dramas Hood: Noble Secrets and Hood: The Scribe of Sherwood.

Andrew's PhD thesis, 'Morphology of the Score: The Organisation of Music in the Films of Michael Giacchino and Pixar Animation Studios' (2020), questions the relationship between music placement and narrative form in cinematic storytelling. His chapter 'DJ, Interrupted: Delivering Punchlines with a Record Scratch' in The Palgrave Handbook of Music in Comedy Cinema (2023) explores the relationship between interruption and humour, questioning the role of the record scratch and presence of record players in contemporary cinema.
